All of us can identify times when we want more for ourselves but can't seem to make it happen. Things get in the way - busy schedules, stress, fatigue, fear, emotional blocks and old patterns. It's ok. It's not you. We are not meant to heal and grow on our own, and we never really reach the end. Second Nature Therapy offers a safe, supportive system of care for healing your wounds, growing your strengths, identifying your values and vision, and building habits that become "second nature" to nurturing your best life.
How something unnatural becomes second nature:
A desire to learn
Mentorship and guidance
Lots of practice and a willingness to keep trying
Misses and missteps, until there are more successes than failures
A supportive community
A belief and desire for the possibility of change & growth.
Second Nature means change. And change has 3 parts: awareness, insight, & action. When you come to therapy, you probably already have the awareness that something doesn't feel right, that you want something more. Engaging in the therapeutic process invites the insight - the why? what? how? when? where? of what you are feeling and wanting. And then there's the action...coaching the movement from insight into lived experience. Alone, it is often overwhelming. Together, it is possible.

My approach to therapy is integrative, using different therapeutic models to best fit your style and needs. I often offer perspectives from narrative, internal family systems, and cognitive behavioral therapy, as well as being grounded in a systemic, ecological and existential "home base."
